"I will Grow.
I will become something new and grand,
but no grander than I am now.
just as the sky will be different in a few hours,
it's present perfection and completeness is not deficient,
so am I presently perfect and not deficient
because I will be different tomorrow."
-Wayne Dryer
In case you hadn't heard, Whitney Huston died yesterday.
Usually, celebrities lives don't mean much to me,
But I have tender feelings for Whitney Huston.
When I was in middle school, her song "The Greatest Love of all" really had a big impact. To a hurt, lonely, scared girl who had been victim of some serious offenses, who had thus been catapulted into a state of self directed loathing and identity crisis amid an already biological identity crisis, her song was a guide post. It had an effect that when I was really feeling low, I could get enough courage to direct my attention to things that really mattered. I'll admit, there were times when I would play this song over and over and cry.
It may sound pathetic, it may sound strange. But you know what, its part of who I am, and I'm okay with that. I like that, I may even say I love that.
Without further ado, here my friends is the greatest love of all. By Whitney Huston. May she RIP.
and yes, I can still sing you the whole song.
