You know that post where I mentioned a vacation? We're on it, almost a week into it. Saturday night we flew on a nonstop redeye from Fairbanks to Denver-and that was exciting. Travis and I got to the FAI Airport with his parents and were checking in, plenty of time (whew! Thank goodness!) to spare-and we're checking in, and handed the lady our id's, and she's handing them back to us and notices something, then asks
"Wait, who's Travis, are you Travis?"
"Yes" he replies as I point to him.
"Hold on a minute"
Turns out, "You were supposed to fly yesterday."

"Not my fault" I blurted out, "YOU did it" :( Poor Travis, I did apologize later for that-I kinda threw him under the bus. I think hope know he's forgiven me. He's that wonderful. The frontier airlines people assured us "Worse things have happened" and then they quickly proceded to rebook us-and not charge us any fees. We really hope they understood the appreciation in our voices and we thanked them profusely. It simply was an error in our diligence to double and triple check our flying dates-granted we only planned on flying on the 18th for 10 minutes before deciding on the 19th, we must have hit the magic button during those 10 minutes.
Anyways, so we landed in Denver Sunday Morning, and then got ready for 9 am church with Traci's family. I was really happy about the thought of going to Relief Society-but after sacrament decided I needed to go home and sleep like Travis and his parents had been planning. I only stayed awake during Sacrament Meeting because I had the adorable niece Rylee playing the dot/box game with me to keep my brain awake.
After our nap, we hopped in the car to go see Grammy and Bumpy-they are such wonderful people. We visited there for a while then headed over to Aunt Pat's house to visit a bit, and then drove straight to Longmont CO to attend Paige's seminary Graduation. Afterwords, we went back to Traci's, where Keith so kindly cooked us dinner (all we had had all day between the hustle and bustle of going here and there and everywhere was Muffins and a banana.) of baked potatoe and Grilled Pork Chops.
Monday, we climbed in the truck (borrowed from Grammy and Bumpy) and drove to Oklahoma. About 12 hrs or so, and we made it to :
"Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma, Ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky"
We've had three lazy days here-met my Grandma Joanne, aunt Angie and Lilly, cousins and their adorable children (Little miss Payton, Jamie's daughter, is adorable! And Paytons big Sisters Chloe and Bailey are my new best friends), uncles, cousins and many dear friends. It was my first time meeting my father in law's side of the family and its been great. I hope its not long before we come again. Some of the things I experienced for the first time: Flat flat flat windy Kansas, a donkey hee-haw-ing at me, having to pull off the road for a wheat shredder, waiting for a frieght train (They're REALLY LONG down here), lightning bugs, and the southern heat and humidity!
I am ready though for tomorrow. We take off early to cross Kanasas again and head back up to Colorado, we're expecting to get back just about the time Trinity and Teri and Seb make it into Colorado from Oregon/Utah. It'll be good to all be back-must admit, my allergy shots are gonna be put to the test, and I'm feeling apprehensive-there will be 3 dogs coming with the Sister In laws, and Traci also has a dog, as does everyone else. I'm fearful for my comfort, but at the same time interested on how Dr F. treatment plan is working. I've been diligent on my part since he changed my medicine. I went of the advair earlier this month-now I'm taking a milder steroid and only once a day, and my clairiton-I've been off singulair now for a few months. Anyways-now that I've bored you-I'll wrap it up (actually, I felt I was being very interesting but Travis says this is too long and no-one will read it.)
In short, vacation is fun, will report more later.

May Day! May Day!
CRASH and burn.
I'm ready for my vacation.
And to get to my own spot at work.
Today, it snowed.
And the snow seemed to drain the energy and motivation out of me[ironic when you think back to September and how much the snow invigorated me]. Snow in May, it was rough. Also I worked in two departements today, went from one, to the other, and back to the first. Neither one are going to be my home. Thats exhausting. The end of this wandering thing is just not coming fast enough.
In good news: I will end up in OBGYN....eventually....to work with Dr Hess!!!
Also, Activity Day girls shaped up and cooperated with 10 mins of the night to spare! (It was a rough day there as well)
And: There are green things unfolding on the trees-I think I remember them from a long time ago, most people call them leaves if I recall correctly.....the winter fog is still clouding my recollection of a beautiful memory of sunshine and flowers and green-ness-it think its called summer? And the green things seem to make me think this thing called summer is getting nearer. Can't be for certain though.
Very much looking forward to our vacation. We leave the 19th for Colorado and from Colorado we'll go to Oklahoma, and from OK back to Colorado. Two weeks! PTO! My man with me all day everyday! YEAH!
Looking forward to it!
