Star Spangled Banner Vs 3, say what?

Did you know there's more than one verse to our national anthem?  (If your LDS and grew up with the hymn book you don't count!)  And my favorite verses are 2 and 3.

And because Francis Scott Key was so much more eloquent than me, enjoy my belated patriotism!

On the shore dimly seen thru the mists of the deep,
where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
as it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream;
'Tis the star spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the Free and the home of the brave!

Oh thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with vit'ry and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our Trust!"
And the star spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!

Can you imagine being there on the feild writing that song?  Very powerful.  I had to fight tears on Sunday when the Senior Primary kids stood and sang this song with me-out of the mouths of babes.

And who can forget the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I did some searching, and Julia Ward Howe wrote this down near the end of the Civil war, adds another uplifting twist to the words of again, vs 2 and 3 (vs 1 is always oversung)

He hath Sounded forth his Trumpet that shall never call retreat;
he is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgement seat
Oh, be swift my soul to answer him be jubilant my feet!
Our God is marching on

In the Beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea,
With a Glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me
As he died to make us holy, let us live to make men free,
While God is marching on!
